When talking about the future of mobility, many words come to mind including autonomous driving and electrification. This is where the future of technology is headed, with the world’s largest automakers leading the way. We are also making our mark in the development of future mobility through our Mi Ecosystem products, such as our new Ninebot Plus, a streamlined scooter that is not only recreational but also a testament to the possibilities of future mobility.
Seeing people zipping around on a Ninebot Mini has become an increasingly common sight since we launched it in China two years ago. The Ninebot Plus, the newer version of the Mini, is not only more powerful, but also sports new technology that allows for easier accessibility and mobility through the “follow” mode.
Ninebot Plus comes with a remote control tucked into its body that allows the user to unlock the scooter, summon it and turn the lights on/off, or activate the follow mode.
The follow mode uses wireless technology, similar to that of a small radar system, so other than personal transportation, the Ninebot Plus is able to double as a handy assistant, carrying anything from books to groceries to luggage. It can even assist in walking your dog if your hands are full – talk about real multi-tasking! The follow mode works in conjunction with the “load mode,” which allows the scooter to immediately balance once weight is added, with a maximum weight load of 20kg.
An optional camera is also available for the Ninebot Plus, opening up even more possibilities for aspiring videographers or those who simply love capturing time with friends or travels on video. The Ninebot Plus, when coupled with the follow mode and the camera, is the ideal assistant when a cameraman isn’t around, much like having your own track slider. When not in use, the camera can be stored in a hidden compartment.
Accessibility and connectivity. That’s where the future of technology is headed, especially when it comes to consumer goods.
“Today’s leading technology will become part of the daily routine of tomorrow.”
—Liu De, vice president of Xiaomi
When everyone’s day-to-day is cluttered with social media, relationships, errands and information overload, technology’s role in the future is to help streamline and simplify our lives. The Ninebot Plus does just that; it’s a tool that not only exhibits accessible technology but that also signifies a new lifestyle that millions of consumers are starting to embody.
