The year of 2019 has treated us really well, we have managed to bring a lot of innovative products to users and Mi Fans alike. Our products have been recognized by ever more users in over 90 markets around the globe, in over 40 of which we ranked top five in terms of smartphone shipments as of the third quarter 2019.

Thanks to our “smartphone+AIoT” dual core strategy, as of the end of the third quarter of 2019, the number of connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices on Xiaomi’s IoT platform reached approximately 213 million units, excluding smartphones and laptop, up by 62.0% year-on-year.

With the deployment of 5G, we have also helped drive the large scale commercialization by bringing the best price to performance 5G smartphones to the market, starting from China.

Xiaomi Launches the First Redmi Phone to Offer 5G: Redmi K30 5G

Beijing, China, December 10, 2019 – Today, global technology leader Xiaomi announced the first Redmi brand smartphone to feature 5G technology – Redmi K30 5G.  Along with the all-new 5G smartphone lineup, Redmi also introduced three ecosystem products, including the RedmiBook 13, Redmi AI Speaker Play and Redmi Router AC2100. 

Powered by the latest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 765G processor, Redmi K30 5G provides integrated SA/NSA dual-mode 5G with the latest 7nm EUV and an integrated low-power consumption solution. Both Redmi K30 series’ 4G and 5G variants will feature an incredible 120Hz screen refresh rate and 64MP camera with Sony’s IMX686 sensor, starting from RMB 1599 and RMB 1999 respectively, making Redmi K30 5G one of the most price-worthy 5G offerings in the market.

Redmi K30 series: Revolutionized user experience with 120Hz Display

Redmi K30 series adopts a top of the range 120Hz refresh rate, meaning the screen refreshes at 120 frames per second, twice as fast as the traditional 60Hz screen. The high 120Hz refresh rate brings about a smoother scrolling experience, an optimized touch response rate and reduced motion smear – all of which elevate user experience to the next level. 

Apart from the incredible screen refresh rate, Redmi K30 also features a 6.67-inch 20:9 screen, and a DualDotDisplay with ultra-small punch-hole design that achieves a 91% screen-to-body ratio. 

Building an advanced 5G platform with Snapdragon 765G 

Lu Weibing, Redmi Brand General Manager, stated Redmi will be recognized as a “5G trendsetter” in 2020. As such, Redmi will be the first to adopt the latest 5G technology, the most aggressive product features and the fastest new product release schedule, so that more users can enjoy the benefits of 5G.

As one of the world’s first phones to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor using the latest 7nm EUV process, Redmi K30 5G leverages the second-generation 5G solution to integrate dual-mode 5G baseband and supports SA / NSA. 

Redmi K30 5G adopts a 5G smart network adjustment technology to dynamically select the best network based on different user scenarios. With such technology, the device will run 5G at full speed when users are streaming HD videos or downloading files, while intelligently switching to power-saving mode when viewing texts and web pages.

On the charging front, Redmi K30 5G supports 30W fast charging and adopts an all-new charging architecture and Mi Fast Charge technology, allowing its 4500mAh big battery to be fully charged within 66 minutes.

Debuting Sony’s IMX686 flagship sensor with 64MP quad camera setup

Redmi K30 series come equipped with a superior 64MP quad rear camera setup. The main camera sports Sony’s IMX686 1/1.17-inch large sensor, ensuring a high resolving power to directly output 64MP shots and 9248 x 6936 high resolution images. Redmi K30 series also offers a 4-in-1 1.6μm Super Pixel camera with a Night Mode 2.0 feature and the latest RAW multi-frame AI noise reduction algorithm to capture rich details in low light conditions.

As the first 13-inch laptop released by Redmi, RedmiBook 13 adopts a metallic unibody finish and a 1.23kg lightweight design, making it a perfect pick for users who live a contemporary on-the-go lifestyle. Beijing, CHINA, December 4, 2019 – Today Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced its two latest 5G mobile platforms – the Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 865 and 765 – at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 in Hawaii. Also at the summit, Lin Bin – Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board, Xiaomi Corporation, announced that Xiaomi’s Mi 10 will be one of the first flagship smartphones to utilize the Snapdragon™ 865. Simultaneously, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand general manager Lu Weibing also announced the Redmi K30 smartphone series will be one of the first to feature. Combined, these announcements highlight how Xiaomi is leading the way forward with adopting cutting-edge 5G technologies.

On the first day of the summit, Qualcomm’s President Cristiano Amon announced that 5G will become widespread in 2020, allowing more consumers worldwide to enjoy 5G multi-gigabit connectivity speeds. As the latest product from Qualcomm Technologies’ flagship 8-series mobile platform sets the standard for performance and user experience of the upcoming generation of flagship smartphones.

Following this, Xiaomi’s Lin Bin immediately announced that the Xiaomi’s next flagship, Mi 10, will be released in the first quarter of next year. As the flagship product celebrates its tenth anniversary of Xiaomi, it is one of the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform. 

“The 5G era opens up new opportunities and challenges. It brings great innovations and redefines how users interact with devices, audio, and video applications. The next generation of “Super Internet” will be an all-new model that combines 5G + AI + IoT.” Lin Bin commented. “Xiaomi will fully promote the development and promotion of 5G mobile phones, and will be launching more than 10 5G-enabled mobile phones in 2020.”

Previously, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi’s 5G future smart factory is almost completed and will start production at the end of December. This Xiaomi “Future Factory” will use technologies such as automated production lines, 5G networks, robots, big data, and cloud service platforms on a large scale. It is expected that 60 high-end smartphones will be produced per minute, boasting an efficiency increase of more than 60% compared to traditional factories.

As one of Xiaomi’s two brands, Redmi will be one of the first mobile phone brands to utilize Qualcomm Technologies’ new 5G Snapdragon 765 with integrated 5G, and will officially release the Redmi K30 series featuring Snapdragon 765 on December 10.

Previously, Lu Weibing, general manager of the Redmi brand, stated that Redmi’s positioning as a “5G trendsetter” in 2020 means that Redmi will be the first to adopt the latest 5G technology, the most aggressive product features and the fastest new product release schedule, so that more users can enjoy the benefits of 5G.

As Qualcomm Technologies has just released the Snapdragon 765 mobile platform on December 3, Redmi will launch a new 5G phone – Redmi K30 within a week. To launch this in such a short time frame is an achievement rare to find across the history of Qualcomm Technologies’ new flagship products. This highlights the strength of the cooperative relationship between Redmi and Qualcomm Technologies, which is unparalleled and is also a reflection of both companies’ dedication to being pioneers of 5G technologies. 

The Redmi K30 series will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Mobile Platform. “G” stands for Gaming, which is a high-performance version of the Snapdragon 765 series. Beijing, CHINA, 29 November 2019 — Xiaomi Corporation (“Xiaomi” or “the Company”, HKEX stock code: 1810) today announced the latest change of executive positions on Nov 29.

Mr. Wang Xiang, who had been the Senior Vice President of the Group and head of global business, was promoted as the President of the Group. He will be responsible for the Group’s administrative platform, and will assist the Group’s CEO, Lei Jun, to take charge of the Group’s operations.

Mr. Lin Bin will continue to hold the positions of executive Director, Vice Chairman of the Board, and President of the Group’s Smartphone Department.

Mr. Chew Shou Zi, Senior Vice President and CFO, has been appointed as the President of the Group’s Global Business Department and will be responsible for the Group’s global business.

The board of directors has set up a CFO Search Committee to select a new CFO. Mr. Chew Shou Zi will continue to act as the CFO until the appointment of a new CFO.

In his letter to employee, Chairman and CEO Lei Jun also announced that Mr. Lu Weibing was appointed as the President of China region and will remain as the General Manager of Redmi brand. Also, Mr. He Yong was promoted as the Vice President of government affairs, administrative affairs and regional management department.

Lei said that thanks to the amazing effort of the entire Xiaomi family, the Company has delivered an outstanding set of Q3 results. Xiaomi will go all-out on 5G next year, it will also be a critical year for the Company to forge ahead with “Smartphone + AIoT” dual-engine strategy. Therefore, Xiaomi need more organization depth and energy brought on by job rotation of our management team. As such, the management team have chosen two young and promising executives Chew Shou Zi and Lu Weibing for job rotation.
